New Yorker Case Study

This was my editorial mock cover for the New Yorker magazine. The goal of this project was to develop an interesting illustration to serve as a mock cover illustration for The New Yorker magazine under the theme of Autumn/Winter. The concept was up to me within the theme of Autumn/Winter in New York City however, I needed to establish a creative direction based on the specific aesthetic and readership the New Yorker has cultivated.

The concept I decided to go with combined New York’s street food with the imagery of pigeons that commonly inhabit the streets of New York. I felt that both of these concepts are things that represent New York and that the common New Yorker would be able to recognize and relate to the depiction.
